The borough was painted PINK once again in celebration of the Rollieson’s fifth annual “Spring Bling, Think Pink Breast Cancer Benefit” on May 14.
More than 200 guests came to the Rollieson’s home to support Joanne and Ronald’s party which reflects her commitment to bring awareness of breast cancer to the community and provide emotional support to survivors.
Joanne is thankful for her own health after personally battling breast cancer six years ago. As a survivor, Joanne became involved with a few support groups to help her find others who had similar experiences and programs that offered optimistic outlooks and activity.
One of the support groups that Joanne was drawn to was Tennis for Life, a program in Ridgewood that enables women to play tennis on a regular basis to help them gain back strength, stamina and a feeling of normality after undergoing the emotional stress and physical difficulty of fighting breast cancer.
She was so grateful to Tennis for Life for the support she’s received over the years that she selected them as the beneficiary of her 2011 “Spring Bling, Think Pink Breast Cancer Benefit” party donations, which raised $5,445.00 this year.
